Workshop on Drug Abuse Prevention was successfully conducted by MBC – Youth Department from 2018 July 18th to 20th in Tongoo. The following topics were shared and discussed : “Illegal Drugs and related consequences” (Saya Khun Jolly). Prevention methods on Drug Abuse (Saya N Khun Ton Goom), Various kinds of Drugs and their bad influence + background reasons of using drugs (Dr. Aung Myo Thet, Mental Hospital). Following activities will be implemented in the near future : Awareness Raising and Educational Programs on Illegal Drugs, Bible Studies, Encouraging programs on self-esteem, Parenting training for parents, producing IEC on Illegal Drugs etc. 36 youth participants and 4 observers, altogether 40 people from Kachin, Lisu, Lahu, Mon, Wa, MBCU, Nothern Shan, Eastern Shan, Tedim, Naga, Kayin, Pwo Kayin, Shweli Shan Conventions attended.
