Rev. Dr. Thang Cin Lian, general secretary of the MBC attended “World Mission Conference” and BCANA “conference” in the United State of America from 4 to 15 July 2018. “World Mission Conference” was organized by American Baptist Churches, ABC which has taken place in Green Lake, Wisconsin, USA. The theme of the conference is “You are the Salt of the Earth” (Matthew 5;13). This mission conference is organized mainly based on Dr. Adonairam Judson’s oversea mission work.
Rev. Dr. Lian also attended Burmese Christian Association of North America’s (BCANA) mission conference which was held in Battle Creek, Michigan, USA from 12 to 15 August 2018.
Moreover the MBC’s GS met Rev. Dr. Robert D. Cochran, D.C Baptist Convention and met Rev. Dr. A Roy Medley, outgoing general secretary of the ABC, separately. Dr. Lian also visited the United Nations Head Office in New York and met the ambassador of the Union of Myanmar to the UN H.E Mr. Hau Do Suan and wife.
Dr. Lian acknowledged Rev. Lessie Turley, the director for Asia and Japan, ABC and Rev. Dr. Saw Ler Htoo, pastor of Calvary Myanmar Baptist Church, D.C USA for their kind assistance and coordination.
